Howdy Fellas,

Just wondering what people catch off Henley Jetty. I have fished there quite abit and hooked Rays, Dog Sharks and Fidlers but just wondering what else is around there and what people have caught etc

Cheers,

As well as the sharks, rays and elephant sharks, it is a good jetty for sand crabs and blue swimmers.

Gar and tommies under a float at night. Gar during the day with a cork and sinker rig on the bottom. ST during the cold months. The shallows are good for YFW, mullet and bream. I have also caught a few squid off there but not many.

out of curiosity are elephant sharks edible and if so how do you treat them once caught (besides nicely lol ) as ive caught a couple but always threw them back as i thought they were just an uglier version of a port jackson

yes twinpower they can be caught of most if not all metro jettys, and usually get more in the shallows rather than the end.Best session ive had with them was off the beach metro too that was.

ive tried to eat them b4 2x and didnt like it at all! maybe i did sumthin wrong , it was many years ago though and not sure , maybe i froze it with the skin on, or cooked it with skin on , wich is a big NO NO now !

yea, from now till early october i would say is best. small baits work best 1/0 3/0 hook sorta thing. squid or fish bits 4 bait .
