I took the dog for a walk last night and thought well i might as well have a flick and see if i can break my bream drought that i've got going.Well not exactly a drought but i haven't caught a 40cm fish yet in 2010.....I had an amusing little session on the 4lb swizzel stick but now the clicker on the drags gone silent and drought is ongoing and to top it off the little bully in the 2nd pic kicked sand in my face

with the amount of time you spend with your line in the waterI'm sure it can't be far away !

Nice catch any way..... by catch... gotta love it !

Re:the bream drought 2 years ago #83320

better than the 20 something salmon trout I've been finding mate

Re:the bream drought 2 years ago #83322

might be time time to train the dog how to use the camera

nice to see no background blackouts

well done brenton

Re:the bream drought 2 years ago #83325

congrats Brenton, all sounds a bit familiar

im sure with your expertese the drought will be broken after a few more mullys i think i like the by-catch better than the targeted fish!

Thanks chaps, yeah lures smartie.I've caught plenty of 40+ bream but not this year so far,i've found the 37-8's actually go a bit harder but the really big boys put on a decent dogged performance.
No blackouts Rick the schoolies move all through the lake and i've caught them in quite a few spots as Jagger has said you really got to put in the time on them.I went back to the car after those two and got out my Mully gear for half an hour but as you'd expect not another sausage.

Probably more fun on the lighter gear anyway Brenton Do yoy think the lack of rain & clear conditions might have meant staying light attracted more attention?

True Ray,the mully gear would of smashed them and as you know the lighter you can go the more hits you'll get.Unfortunately the last 2 i've lost shredded my leaders so it has its draw backs.

Well done on the mullies. That picture with the background visible you've done well with the Mullies at that stretch of "OUR BEACH" Brenton .Not to mention Bream .
Found out a local .All the big Bream are out in the middle he's been having fun at night .
I could only manage a tiny Bream before the D/Boats started yesterday.I did lose something bigger not long after a bloody large prawn (yes prawn not a shrimp)went jump jump jump .
An interesting beach one trip nothing the next trip they are jumping over themselves to get caught.
And yes I was using that Popper in the wind the fish were jumping out the water.Mainly babies
Have u seen those large Garfish along there again Brenton ?
