Have spent a bit of time around tne Port River over the last week (land based), and, despite the poor tides, the Salmon Trout have played the game. Not all were legal, but still ended up with a dozen or so each time for the three sessions.

The 2 inch Berkley Gulp Shrimp in New Penny and Banana Prawn colours were the best, but 3 inch Minnows in Smelt were OK too.

I was surprised to catch a couple shitties on the plastics, as well as a mullet and a few puffers.

Maybe it's an early start to the Salmon Trout season?

yeah mate lots of ST's starting to move in..... Gonna be a good season i think.... Get the smokers out and ready guys I've been getting a fair few trumpeters on HB lures.... little buggers

Good to see mate, been plenty around for months now, size being the biggest problem.
Glad to hear its on the improve though, dont mind getting into them at all

they are back in sync then last season was weird and the biggies went missing.
