TOPIC: Del and Afishyfish do well

Del and Afishyfish do well 1 year, 5 months ago #116695

After a quiet session with a mate on a snapper spot last night, we decided to head into a secret spot this afternoon, to check out the wildlife, enjoy the weather and maybe even catch something decent for a change

Paul and I fished in our usual spot, with a few smaller bites from the pesky smaller fish, until about 3 )'clock when I hooked up Big Time

Fortunateley it didnt take the 2Kilo outfit, opting to munch the bread bait on my 3 kilo rig

After an extended Tussell a very solid fish was netted and up on the bank

I had a message soon after from Del, and let him know I had just landed a " large" carp. but he didnt quite expect to see what he saw when he arrived soon after Rock-Nev who was in town,

RN produced some old scales that said the fish was 111 Kilo, but as the scales were old ones Im not that sure.

Del Had a few bites too, but like me, most were missed until he had a good take and a solid fish taken on Corn. From memory his fish went close to 6 Kilo, so not a bad effort from the old Ranga either

Hopefully he'll add some pics here soon

The following happened before Del arrived, but was pretty funny.
Fortunateley a few other fishos were around when a guy walking past decided that we were all " Noxious Fisherman" because we refused to put the larger one back.
I politeley explained the reasons why they arent returned, but the guy insisted it should go back because it "had babies in it and was going to be a mother". Much more patient explaining was done as to the fact that that was another reason why it shouldnt go back, and despite this he STILL wasnt happy.

Nothing we could say or do would convince this guy he was just plain wrong, and at one stage he made a move as if to put the fish back in himself, but I spoiled his plan by judicious use of a steel cap boot on the fishes head
It seems to me that he realised at some point that he'd made a fool of himself but didnt want to back down in front of his wife and little baby, and ended up departing cursing us all as "ignorant noxious species"
Mean while we all just started laughing

Cheers

PS Pillie and Softy are gonna LOVE this photo

Well done fella, you've got to be stoked pulling out a horse like that! Looks as if you did it just in time though she was about to pop
Men and fish are alike. They both get into trouble when they open their mouths.
