Hi guys,

Me and Matt89 have just invested a bit of our "hard earned" into

a 10ft Marlin Craft tinny, with two batteries and a "Mariner" leccy

motor and are real keen to chase Murray redfin and Callop this summer

We are not asking for your specific hot spots, only a rough guide to a

few general areas where we might be able to score a bit of sport!

Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Cheers, tonyb.

Always get a few every time I fish the lower lakes, but its a bit hard to find structure, try around all those little jetties and landings...

G'day Tony,

Last year at the Callop Classic at Cobdogla Finatic got a few cracking Reddies, I think they were 30+ cm. Ask Scorps if he remembers or I can PM you

Tony first Redfin I ever caught was on a tiger worm off the wharf at Berri, dropped it in and lifted it straight out with a fish on the end ! Not bad for a little tacker... cooked up well on the BBQ from memory !

across to the opposite side of the river from the caravan park at blanchtown (the park on the township side). if its still there look across from the boardwalk and you should see a big ass fallen tree trunk. Fish between that and the large gum to its left casting toward the shore but about 20feet out Hope this makes sense lol
Aussies-What can't we do!!!

Re:Murray Redfin?? 1 year, 5 months ago #118249

I cant tell ya but I can blindfold and take you there....

any where around the bridges of shithole county (Murray Bridge that is and I'm allowed to call it that as I lived there for 10+ years and know from experience lol...)

Swanport bridge concrete structures and the actual "Murray Bridge" itself hold good yella's (but thats no secret..)& the pump house inlets for reddies as the increased water levels will see their old haunts re-activate...! I'll explain them to ya when i next see ya Tony....

Thanks for all the tips guys, plenty of spots there for me and Matty

to get our lures in amongst

Not sure about Clayton tho', must have been bone dry during

the drought, still, with all this fresh coming down and the redfin

breeding event imminent

I like the town that i live in good place to bring up the kids,

Tony- water at Clayton was pretty darn low during the drought but still plenty there for them to survive- My family had a shack there for roughly 13 years overlooking said islands and inlets and i always did well there, infact i used to try to catch them when kneeboarding behind my dads old boat- the prop used to freak them out, they would jump out of the water right into my path

Yeah its not soooooo bad I guess, just I had ALOT of violence inflicted on me whilst I live there with 5 hospitalisations in 6 years with 2 broken bones and 28 stiches so I am not a fan of alot of the rednecks that live there... Although most of my family still live there and catch some cracker callop and carp and the odd reddie (no-where as frolific as they used to be...??!!) so if its got water its gotta be ok...

Re:Murray Redfin?? 1 year, 4 months ago #119019

is that the towns fault or should we be looking else where fishzilla?

I lived close to murray bridge for a few years and my missis grew up there, not a bad town I thought much better than the hussel and bussel of town.
