Had an awesome day out with Scorps, we ended up with a couple of dozen Reddys, my first decent one was a 42cm beauty at 1.06kg and later on a cracking 44cm reddy at 1.33kgs!!!
The quality of the fish were high as the supporting cast were around the 700g to 750g with some smaller, but still great fun

The 1.06kg fish in the pic, shows it had inherited scars right across it's body and in to the Dorsal fin

A little froggy came to say hello and pose for his piccy

A black snake was unfortunate enough to tangle with some fruit net and would have had a shocking death

Sorry to bore you guys with so many pictures, got lots more but un fortunately they are a bit too revealing of location

The biggest reddy was a great story, it plucked at my lure just as the light was starting to go and the rain was starting as well!
I saw the swirl and just the faintest of plucks so immediately let the lure sink and about 5 seconds later the fish picked it up cold from the bottom and screamed off along the weed beds with me going after it and away from the landing net
So pleased my drag was set right! The next thing is it's tangled in a dense weed bed, nothing for it but to plunge the arm in there and loosen the weed around the flapping fish. Heart in the mouth and I carefully guided fish and weed bundle on to the Bank
Best reddy for the year so far but there's still penty of time left yet

That 1.33 is a monster.

Sounds like a top day out, with plenty for the freezer as well as a feed tonight.

Is it about the time of year the big reddies come out to play??

Cooler weather seems to bring 'em on the bite tho". Evenings too

Matt96 tells me they would fish through the ice in the UK in sub zero temperatures

Wahooo... nice one Tony !! great fish and with only a few extra centimetres you can tell it would weight in a lot heavier

Is that possibly a leader for the Redfin trophy or private water ?

How did Scorps fair ??

Got to hit the fresh up again now all the hype of the wedding and honeymoon is starting to die down.

Yep Dan, must admit I was feeling very pleased with myself and tho I

was frozen and soaked to the skin, I still giggled all the way home

that night

Scorps was a naughty boy for even playing out as he has a medical

problem (to be scanned soon) which has prevented him from fishing for

6 or 7 weeks now. That didn't stop the young man tho', he gave a

creditable account of himself although he was spotted cheating with a

Squidgy Bug instead of his "Fail me never" spoons

Certainly does mate.

It was after seeing a bit of frustration creep into the old mans eye that I set him up with the same jig head and SP on Saturday and still smashed him. ( not that I was counting ! )
