TOPIC: A Dirty Long Weekend at Loxton

A Dirty Long Weekend at Loxton 1 year, 11 months ago #89907

thought I would start showing the Dirty coloured water in the river.

plenty of duck-weed thriving in the water.

lot's of weed no matter where you fished

clean looking carp though

another milky pic

Re:A Dirty Long Weekend at Loxton 1 year, 11 months ago #89910

wasn't all doom and gloom though

always seem to find a quiet spot on long weekends

plenty of roos roam freely around the Park

only required a small fire at night

very relaxing watching a few boats float by

was trolling various stumpjumpers and flicking many of the fallen trees. plenty of weed catching the trebles.

my one and only fish for the weekend on a SP

Sunday was total bludge day drinking plenty of home brew and bourbons in the warm weather.

wasn't expecting the weather to change...... for the better

love the rain to cool things down

Sunday was Camp-oven Stew day. started cooking in the sun, but soon had to move my cooker under the annexe.

I'll post some camp-oven pics tomorrow in the great outdoors

That fish you caught looks like a juvenile Murry cod and should not be removed from the water just for a photo other than that act of environmental vandalism...great post and pics
cheers brenton

I wouldn't share my secrets with just anyone, but I'm gonna help you out here, coz I know you'd do the same for me!

You'll have much more success if you use a slightly smaller plastic, to target slightly larger fish!

Filleting them littlies can be a nightmare without ya glasses too!

it was a ripper of a weekend Old Salty

your a mongrel brenton

had to have a double-take on your reply ranger

there was a consistent flow in the water wes. the locals were happy.

it is the Loxton Big4 caravan park. you wouldn't know when camped by the river. it is my "safe" camping area if the weather looks bad.

we planned a solo weekend, and so did one of our camping buddies. they arrived friday as we did, but they camped under the trees with the roos. we chose the waters edge to camp. both were excellent spots.

Looks like a very relaxing week end away Rick.
Pulling in big fish like that was probably the biggest effort you put in all week end
Took more effort than paddling that canoe........when is Cindy going to learn that paddling up front is a lot harder....when you , out of sight, can stop paddling and relax while she battles on, shame on you Rick

Looks like a great spot, good to see you both enjoy your get aways together.
Great pictures and report Rick.......and i promise not to tell Cindy about being in the back of the canoe next time.......Well not for a couple of days anyway

When I saw the heading I thought

He's been at the Viagra again

Is a great park that one , we used to frequent that on the bikes quite regular years ago , strange how we never caught any fish , what do you mean there has to be a hook. Looks like the pair of you had a top time , and that weed really is in abundance, now come on where's the camp oven pics.

Cheers
