TOPIC: Just a question.

Just a question. 1 year, 5 months ago #114951

Hello i am just wondering if anyone knows how big the fine is if you get caught with an unregistered boat? and no license?

Just asking as a friend of mine likes to take his boat out a bit and you can guess the rest.

Cheers

G'day Andrew,

Here's some information you can pass onto your mate.

Penalty for operating an unregistered boat $100.00 plus levy add another $30.00 ? or if the matter went before the Courts any where between the fine mentioned above and the maximum penalty $500.00 plus court costs.

Penalty for operating a boat with no licence approximately $160 + levy Higher if the matter went before a Magistrate.

Sorry i haven't got the fee listings with me at home.

Cheers
MJ

Sorry but not happy at all with anyone who does not respect the law and regulations of the state and country.

Plus have they any experience of boating?
Know the right of way on the water?

Gawd ,the list is endless.

Tell "Your Mate" to get his licence plus some insurance and be a real part of society here.

I'm blunt.

I'm angry.

The threat of a fine should not be a deterrent - a conscience should be!

Sorry but I spent a long time trying to learn and do the right thing.
