More of a question than news...........

Heard a whisper that the Marina at Hindmarsh Island will have another show on later this year. Haven't seen any discussion on any forums though so really am not sure - anyone else heard anything?

I gather the previous one was quite good so "IF" another is on and "IF" this rain hits down there with the new weir in place it "MAY" be a real success. Sure hope so.

(Mods: Not sure if this in the right place - couldn't find a "Rumour and innuendo" forum )
Cheers, Bob

Latest I heard is mid November - still all unofficial though.

Apparently the water level started to rise the day after the weir was finished, even before the pumping started.

Hindmarsh Island boat show has been canceled due to lack of industry interest. I know this because Coast Guard was going to be there with Club Marine and they have been told it is canceled.

I don't normally use strong language but that made me say "Darn!"

Just have to go paddling that day instead.

Maybe they should employ Waterboy to organise these events, Im sure he would put on a great show and that goes for the Adelaide Boat Show also, he certainly couldn't do any worse

A local told me yesterday that he was talking with the organiser on the weekend and the main problem is with the larger potential exhibitors who would have provided most of the on water craft for the day.

With a major company closing down recently and others putting off people due to the economic state it was just not possible to provide enough on- water items to make it a good show.

Apparently a lot of smaller companies/organisations were still interested but this is not enough to justify the event going ahead.

Oh, and +1 for the Waterboy idea!
Cheers, Bob
