G'day guys,
I finally found a trailer for the Pro Angler and Outback . It cost me $100.00 and I've started the rebuild today. It's good and solid and the PA just fits down the center but as long as it saves my long suffering back from lifting them onto the roof of my Patrol I'm going to be a happy man.
I'm just going to weld some rails on the base of the trailer and a frame over the top of the PA so the Outback will fit up top in the kayak holders then give the whole thing a paint job and some LED lights and she'll be ready to go. I'll post up some pics as I go.
Cheers Darren

Nice score for the cash mate

A roller fitted onto the back will help your long suffering back by making loading even easier

Nice buy!
There's nothing like getting something for a steal.
The colour will go well with the yellow PA.
Cheers.

Rob I wish I did have more, I could make a small fortune
Funky I think I'll paint it black mate, there is already far too much yellow in my selection of yaks .
Cheers Darren

if i had a dedicated kayak trailer i would put poly pipe and sprinklers and an attachment on the rails so its easy to clean just switch on water at boat ramp and sprinklers wash down bottom of kayak. wind dry on way home lol

Just a question relating to launching. If you launch a kayak from your roof at a boat ramp do you still have to pay ramp fees? Now you have a trailer I would assume you do. Just another sill question from the Queenslander....

Yeah mate if you launch by trailer at a boat ramp you pay the fee. I still think my back is worth more to me than a boatramp fee though. If you use Garden Island ramp it's still free and plenty of others around the place too.

Just a bit of an update on the trailer. Welded in the rails and frames for both kayaks today and all is going along well. The next job is some 25 x 25 angle under the trailer to run the wiring through and some flat steel bits on the back to hold the lights and number plate. I'm also putting a slide out loading bar on the top rail just in case I need it. Here's some more pics of the build.
Cheers Darren
