Would appreciate any opinion/experience anyone has of 30 hp 4 stroke Suzi outboards.

Curently looking at a 2002 model - 65 hours on the clock.

Any and all comments please. Good or bad.

Don't know about 30hp but I bought a couple of second hand, ex houseboat, 60hp, 1998, 4 stroke Suzi about 4 years ago. I thought they had about 4,500 hrs on the clock but turned out to be only 2,200 hrs when Arno hooked up the laptop. Sold 1 and kept 1.
I did have a problem with an ignition coil .... engine wouldn't go over 3,000 rpm with no fault indication light .... and I ended up with a full valve train rework and about $2k bill. The the problem hadn't gone away and the real problem was found .... $60 worth.
On the other side of the coin, has worked absolutely wonderfully since then. Less than 23l fuel to push my 15' glass runabout out to the oil rig and back about 18 months ago sitting at 30kn on a perfect day.

Thanks for the info Jumbucks.

Have done a little more research and found Suzuki discontinued manufacturing 30 HP 4 stroke in '08 which makes me a little reluctant to spend $5,000. Spare parts OK now but who knows in 6/7 yrs
