Hey guys im going to the U.S. for my honeymoon i just wanna know if anyone has ever fished there and what i should target land based!
I wont have any time in L.A. due to disneyland two days universal studios 1 day knotsbury farm(another amusent park) 1 day and a day trip to san diego and tijuana! but i might get a day of in las vegas , is there any fishing in the middle of a desert? (for those that are keen on spectacle google bass pro shops in vegas and have a look at their 40,000 litre freshwater aquarium that looks like half a river in the store ).
I will also have 5 days in hawaii after this, 1 day for pearl harbour and 1 day for a volcano there, we are staying in a hotel on the beach, does anyone know what to target land based from there? or any freshwater sports fish?

Thanks for your help, i will also google but i want to know if anyone has first hand experience.

Cheers Reelin

Hey Reelin seems like a tight schedule - been to the states a number of times and also done a fair amount of fishing. Really easy in Florida for landbased as this is where there is so much water and every puddle is literally teeming with Largemouth Black Bass from juvenile to real lunkers a good few Kgs. Florida strain Largemouth Bass grows larger than the normal Bass. Pretty easy to catch on lures too - just pop into arguably the best tackle store in the world, Bass Pro Shops, fill up your shopping trolley and youre set!!! Even if not in Florida bass fishing is such a big past time Im sure by asking around youll find places to go - if you see a stream or dam have a bash and you will most likely have a good chance at success.

If going to San Diego try get to Sea World there - one of the best Sea attractions in the world - Aquariums, Killer whales, dolphins, etc etc and worth the bucks and the trip (and will also keep mommy happy whilst on honemoon - lots of "Disney" type attractions at Sea World)

Lake mead is reasonably close to Vegas and its one of the more famous bass lakes. There's a tackle store/boat hire place there and good acces for land based fishing.
