  • The weekend weather is looking good and with this blow fish will definitely be on the chew.

METRO
Whiting numbers are good with good catches coming from the Silt Grounds, The Largs Academy ground, Semaphore reef, Grange Tyre reef, West Beach has some nice size fish over 40cm. Snapper will also be around after this blow especially on the Star wreck and out from the Broadway. Squid are in big numbers down south around Marino, Brighton and West Beach when it's clear. A few Elephant sharks have been caught around the Grange area at night. Watch out for the spikes and they are great eating. Port river has plenty of salmon trout from the North Arm right down towards St Kilda and around near the Port Sailing club. Haven't had many report on West Lakes but I know during the winter periods you can get some big bream and mullet.

YORKE PENINSULA
While I was down there we were getting bag limits of whiting south of the spit at Stansbury in around 4 metres of water and staight out from the Cemetary at Stanbury. This area is also holding plenty of squid. Edithburgh has some nice snapper at the Marion reef and big whiting on the northern side of the island. Squid are also in along the weed beds north of the jetty. The jetty has had a few people getting whiting off the northern end and squid in shallow. Other areas that have been firing for whiting and squid are Turton, Hadwick Bay, Port Victoria, Port Hughes, Wallaroo and Port Broughton. Squid are also coming from Black Point, Ardrossan, Port Vincent and out from Price. Snapper catches have been on the improve with fish being caught west of Ardrossan, Port Vincent, Edithburgh, Corney Point, Balgowan, Port Hughes and on the wrecks out from Port Broughton. Snook are starting to show up on the western side from Port Hughes down to wards Hardwick. Browns Beach is getting plenty of salmon when the weather is good but there is some nice schools along Butlers Beach, Daly Heads, Royston Head, Troughbridge and along Berry Bay. if your heading over the Yorkes this weekend take some crab nets as we sited a lot of blue crabs where we were fish at Stansbury so there must be some still hanging around up north.

SOUTH
Waitpinga has been doing well on salmon and mullet, Cape Jervis and Rapid Bay has tommies and a few squid. The Coorong is still getting some small mulloway up towards the barrages. Salt Creek has some nice schools of salmon and a few big flathead.

FRESHWATER
A friend has been doing well on big Callop around Blanchetown and down towards Castles Landing. There is also some nice fish further down river along the cliffs at Big Bend.

Have a good and safe long weekend and tight lines from the Dorsal Fin Team

REMEMBER we still have a heap of gear at the shop so get in for a bargain before it all goes!!!!!!
