A bit late this month sorry people :(

Everyone who writes up a freshwater fishing related post from the start of December 01/12/2014 until the end of December 31/12/2014 will go into a draw to win a Strike & Hook and LMLFC pack. All freshwater fishing posts from the start of the month can be included in the comp.

This prize pack will contain some cool LMLFC merchandise like a shirt, cap, stubby holder and some lures :)

A massive thanks to the Lower Murray Lure Fishing Club (LMLFC) Please check out www.lmlfc.com and check out their facebook group also https://www.facebook.com/gr...

At the end of December a winner will be chosen by site moderators. A few things we will be looking for are a great story, detailed instructions, nice photos or video and nice flowing, well written content.

Get in there everyone and get up your reports, how to's or what ever else you can think of that is freshwater fishing related.

To make things easy for us mods and so we don't miss any great posts. Please post your new topic in the Strike & Hook Competitions section of the site. Topics will be moved to their appropriate sections after the comp has finished.

GOOD LUCK!!!

The Lower Murray Lure Fishing Club (LMLFC) would like to educate local youth and their families on how to fish in the river Murray and care for this environment and its native inhabitants but funding would really help this even go a long way.

So everyone please follow the link and vote. http://yoursay.sa.gov.au/ideas/take-me-to-the-river-fishing-education-for-riverland-youth

      A little about the event.

Take Me to the River - Fishing education for Riverland Youth

      Problem we're solving
Providing life skills not previously learnt, such as different fishing techniques and how to improve and maintain the local environment. Encouraging young people to get outdoors and meet other like-minded individuals. All of this will help generate a sense of community possibly not already experienced and build self-confidence where it previously may have been lacking.

      How we're solving it:
Organised and structured events at different locations on the lower Murray river. Members of the Lower Murray Lure Fishing Club would hold talks and demonstrations on native fish and their ecology, sustainable fishing, care for the environment and habitat restoration. Club members would also take local youths out fishing in their boats for the day. Donations of equipment and gear to all participants.
