Tania Ravbar on a visit from Melbourne was fishing at billy lights point when she caught some nice salmon on lures which she is proudly holding up in her photo.
Anton Lukin is shown holding up an excellent size Spanish Mackerel caught recently while on holidays near Darwin.
Next photos are of Nola O'Connell, Ros Mcintyre and Sue Williss of Pt Lincoln with their first ever snapper. They brought books to read on board Fuzzell’s Fishing Adventures while their partners were fishing, but according to Fuzz, they ended up catching more than the boys.
Now for what was biting and where.
Elliston
The jetty was excellent at night time for plenty of big tommies, garfish and squid were around in smaller numbers. No news offshore due to the recent bad weather.
Lock’s Well
Even during the bad weather some brave anglers fished for good catches of salmon and big tommies.
Sheringa
Medium size salmon have been biting off the surf beaches.
Almonta/Gunyah Beach
Farm Beach
Whiting have been caught in close this week near the sticks as well as up towards the fence line and the Frenchman in the deep water. The sand hills have produced a few nice schools of salmon trout and snook but whiting have been patchy.
Coffin Bay
The jetty has tommies, salmon trout and a few trevally are starting to show up. Some whiting were caught off the rocks next to the boat ramp, while salmon trout are prolific in Dutton Bay.
Port Lincoln
Salmon schools are patrolling the bays and have been spotted chasing pilchards along the North Shore, Billy Lights Point, and Proper bay. The North Shore was ok for whiting and squid catches were good. Down the Passage whiting were very quiet; some believe this could be due to a one degree drop in water temperature recently. The jetties are good for some squid and a couple of tommies but not in huge numbers.
Tumby Bay
Second creek has produced a few salmon ranging in size up to 5lb. A few tommies have been picked up from the jetty and the groups have been a little patchy of late.
Port Neill
Whiting and snook catches were good when the weather allowed anglers to launch their boats. Tommies and squid are going off at the jetty
