We all get a buzz when our kids score a nice fish for the first time. Tim Davis took his son Brock fishing off Point Sir Isaac recently where Brock was able to catch his first snapper. 6-year old Brock is shown holding up two fine examples of the snapper he caught that day.
The happy fellow with the tuna is local keen angler Paul Park. Paul was out by the tuna pens when he landed this 25 kilo fish. During the fight the fish managed to wrap itself around the prop but with the help of as good deckie mate Paul was able to get the line free and land the fish.
Dave Clayfield, skipper of Why-Not Charters has been prospecting for new ground out from Streaky & Ceduna. Catches varied with kingfish, sharks, morwong, large whiting, nannies and a real variety of other reef species.
In one area over two days, clients caught and released over a 100 Samson fish.
In one spot a school of salmon appeared with one monster of 16lb being landed. The biggest salmon Dave has seen come aboard was from an earlier trip to Greenly Island where a customer pulled in a whopper close to 19lb, the angler initially thought it may have been a kingie by the way it fought.
Some of the results are shown in the accompanying images.
