



A watch was found along the south coast last week end and has been handed in to Spot On. The owner can collect it by identifying where it was lost and giving an accurate description of the watch.
Elliston and Australian Fishing Championships update
Haydon Parsons from Kimba was the winner this week with his fish coming closest to the mystery weight. Haydon landed a fish of 1.785 kg, just above the nominated weight of 1.775 kg. Haydon made his catch at Locks Well. A total of 73 fish were weighed in last week.
Elliston
With the wind dropping off last week, the fish have come on in good numbers at a lot of locations. As the water has cleared, big squid have returned to the jetty, Tommies and mullet are also plentiful. Anglers at Mt. Camel have had fun with some big salmon, these fish have moved in large schools.
Lock’s Well
Locks well has been hit pretty hard by the wind over the past week but with the calmer weather new gutters are forming. The next few days early in the week should see the return of the salmon schools.
Sheringa
The reports are all good from Sheringa with lots of anglers hitting the Salmon beach over the weekend. Many good sized fish were taken with some reporting a fish per cast!
Almonta/Gunyah Beach
Farm Beach
The KG whiting are back in force at farm beach. Boats over the tape weed were bagging out quickly with fish averaging 34-35 cm. Conditions over the weekend were perfect for boats of any size with Farm beach ramp being particularly busy.
Coffin Bay
Legal whiting have moved right up into Coffin Bay itself. Shore based anglers working the headlands or jetties have been rewarded with well above legal size fish.
Port Lincoln
The odd snapper catch was reported in Boston Bay in the early morning. The town jetty had squid and tommies from late afternoon onwards. Squid were found along the North Shore and Boston Island. Whiting have been scarce in local bays and the yellowfin have just about finished for the season. Some big whiting were found at Taylors Landing and further south.
Tumby Bay
Squid are coming in off the jetty along with tommies at night .Out in the bay whiting are being caught over the Berry weed while second creek has salmon trout. One boat that travelled out to the Group quickly got their bag limit of whiting but noted that there was almost no other fish about.
Port Neill
Mullet are being caught from the jetty with plenty of whiting coming from the beaches for anglers looking to get out of the wind. Boaties also picked up good catches of whiting over the weekend.
Port Lincoln Anglers Club
Last Sunday, the warm weather saw a bigger than usual number of members journey to the Lincoln National Park for good catches of tommies, whiting, mullet, red mullet, salmon trout, and large leatherjackets.
Biggest fish for the day was a 1.15 kg salmon caught by Mick Kollep.
Top two bags overall for the day went to the two wily veterans in Tom Tierney and Pat Prow.
Division winners for the outing were
Veterans First was Tom Tierney 200pts and second, Pat Prow 150 pts.
Ladies First was Heather Hampel on 105 pts with Annette Brasington just edging out on the smallest margin Julie Bascombe for second place.
Juniors Reece Chamberlain did very well scoring 100pts and Riley Hutchings came second with 55 pts.
Men Tim Doyle with 130 pts was first and John Peters a close second on 100 pts.
