There are plenty of successful fishing stories this week with angler's scoring fish from all over the Peninsula.
The young lass holding the tommy ruff is Miah Wilson; her family have just moved to Port Lincoln and Miah wanted to try her new rod and reel. This she did successfully and is proving to be a very keen young angler out-fishing mum & dad.
From the far-west beaches some good mulloway are being landed as the images show. The Doyle twins Tim & Nick fished with good friend Chris Simpkin where they all caught fish. Chris took out honours with a 61 lb, Nick a 45lb and Tim a 35lb 117cm mulloway.
Craig Siviour is the lucky angler holding up the big Samson fish. Craig and friends fished offshore from Coffin Bay National park where they caught plenty of nannygai as well as the Samson fish.
The crew from "IFish" TV show also did some filming at Arno Bay on the snapper season opening and in Port Lincoln shark cage diving and fishing on board Calypso Star.
Out from Arno Bay and in spite of some very rough weather the crew caught and released plenty of snapper including this one Cameron White caught on the last cast of the day. Pictured with Cameron are John Hastings on the left and Paul Worsteling on the right. It took a Yo-Zuri bib-less minnow and measured 101cm, its weight was estimated at 16 or 17 kg and was tagged and released. Photo courtesy of Arno Bay Fishing Adventures.

Very keen angler Rolf Czabayski is very happy holding up a plump 49 cm whiting; when asked where he caught it he only responded with "in the top lip". There is strong and friendly rivalry between Rolf and his marina buddies with observers highly amused by the banter that goes on between them all when comparing catches.
Now for what was biting and where
Far West Mulloway Beaches
Quite a few mulloway in the 30 to 60lb range have been landed. There has not been a lot of bait fish around where the mulloway have been caught but there have been plenty of bronzies and a few schoolies especially at night.
Elliston
.working along the jetty has seen catches of tommies and a few whiting. At Walkers Rocks whiting are on the bite and some 2-3 kg salmon are being caught. The weather has been unkind to fishing over the weekend in other locations.
Sheringa
Weekend weather kept many indoors but those that ventured out and persisted were rewarded with good-size Tommies Whiting and the odd large Salmon along first beach. There have been no reports from salmon beach however the salmon schools should still be there.
Almonta/Gunyah Beach
Both beaches had salmon and tommies with the bigger salmon weighing around 4 kg.
Farm Beach
Anglers have been happy with whiting catches north of the ramp.
Port Lincoln
Local jetties are starting to fire up with a wide variety of fish being caught. The town jetty has tommies, salmon trout, snook and at night small squid.
In the marina there are a few tommies, salmon trout and mullet and along the south coast salmon range from trout size to 5 & 6 lb.
The main wharf is also seeing more frequent appearances of salmon trout, large tommies and slimy mackerel.
Good catches of large whiting are coming from Thistle Island and also good catches of nannygai from around Williams Island.
Port Neill
The jetty and breakwater are returning good catches of squid and Tommies with garfish for the morning fishers and good snook for the afternoon fisher. Yellow fin whiting are being caught from the beaches and salmon trout from the rocks. If you are out in the boat a few large snapper are around and snook are plentiful. For a feed of nice sized whiting you will have to be persistent.
Arno bay
The local bay and jetty has fair numbers of squid and snook and the inshore reefs are producing small numbers of rugger snapper. Well offshore some snapper around 5 to 10 kg have been found.
Whiting fishing has been hard with bag limits hard to come by.
