FISHING REPORT 6 JAN 2011

One of the pictures this week is of 6-year-old Grace & her 3-year-old sister Lucy Tyler. They are shown at Stenross’s ramp holding up some of their catch.

The two youngsters were very keen to try out there new fishing gear so dad took them boat fishing along the north shore. Lucky Lucy hooked and landed a squid on her first cast with her new rod and Grace also landed a nice squid soon after. The squid were hungry with up to 6 squid at a time attacking their jigs.

5½ year old Callum Crossing from Berri, visiting Coffin Bay will fish all day with his Pop and not ask to go home!  The snook he caught is 75cm long and weighed 1.5kg.

Another image shown comes from Peter Dennis of Triple Bay Charters. Peter had some clients out chasing whiting & rugger snapper when Peter Cirillo hooked something bigger than usual. He is shown holding a very nice snapper which was also the biggest fish for the day.

It looks as if we are in for a very good season on southern blues with fish already being caught at Rocky Island and also a few miles west of Flinders Island off Elliston.
