Sheringa

A few whiting and flathead came from the first beach, while salmon around 2 to 4 kg were reported from the surf beaches.

Convention Beach

Salmon & big tommies have been regularly caught over recent weeks.

Almonta/Gunyah Beach

Plenty of nice size salmon at both Gunyah & Almonta Beaches; some anglers are topping up bags with large mullet in the surf.

Farm Beach

Whiting fishing has been poor lately with many boats struggling to get more than a feed.

Coffin Bay

Legal whiting are patchy but most bays have good numbers of salmon trout, mackerel, garfish and tommies.

Port Lincoln

There has been some nice tommies coming in from the main wharf and on some days there have been plenty of salmon trout when the pilchard boats have been unloading.

There has also been some undersize snapper caught, but were below the legal length of 38 cms.

Horse rock area and Tulka has still been producing a feed of good size whiting and plenty of tommies.

Tumby Bay

There are a few whiting on the ballast and hospital grounds and garfish are should be starting at the Sandhill’s. South of the town around Second Creek there are salmon trout, garfish and tommies. Like Port Lincoln waters the garfish are around in fair numbers but for the last few weeks have been reluctant to bite.

Port Neill

Boat anglers have been successful on whiting from the northern grounds and they are also getting squid, garfish and snook. Some nice rugger snapper have been taken from the inshore grounds with some of the larger specimens up to 5 kilo.

The local beaches are worth trying for both yellow fin whiting and mullet.

Arno Bay

There has been reasonable squid and whiting catches in the bay and for snapper the better places are out wide with inshore grounds a bit quiet.
