Port Lincoln 29/4/10
Readers will recall that last year I wrote about a sea eagle / osprey survey and seeking information of sightings to be forwarded to a Terry Dennis. Some of the results so far are that 65 sea eagle territories have been identified with only 17 on the mainland. There were a total of 59 osprey territories confirmed with most here on southern Eyre Peninsula.
Terry also reports that sea eagles will be courting and repairing nests next month and is still keen to hear about sightings.
He is also very keen to here of sightings where the floodwaters are flowing down the Cooper and Warburton.

Elliston
The big swell has seen garfish and squid slow down off the jetty but there are still good amounts of tommies and trevally.
Waterloo Bay shore line has a few king George and trevally but as with Anxious Bay there is a fair bit of weed washing around due to the swell.
Boat anglers have been happy with the whiting catches out from Anxious.
Locks Well
Good catches of 2 to 3 kilo salmon.
Sheringa
There has been some very good salmon fishing here lately with fish 2 – 3 kilo similar to Locks.
Farm Beach
Although the weather was not ideal for fishing farm beach some people still braved the elements over the weekend. Close to shore people sheltered from the wind and caught some good catches of whiting, tommies and salmon trout both on the sandhills side and the farm beach coast towards frenchmans. Up at the pool end of seven mile produced more fish.
Coffin Bay
There has been plenty of salmon trout in the bays, around the Islands and both the jetty and near the boat ramp.
Legal whiting have been good in a few hot spots along the ledge. In Mount Dutton Bay main catch has been salmon trout and some nice size garfish. Garfish are also coming from the Brothers and rabbit Island.
Port Lincoln
Along the foreshore and off the town jetty sees anglers picking up yellowfin whiting.
Also from the town jetty there have been squid, snook salmon trout, a few kingfish and tommies.
Some good whiting catches have come from the southern & western shores of Proper Bay with much of the fish taken on hard bottom. When the kingfish are scarce, anglers are also getting some nice tommies and garfish in the same area. Thankfully with the colder weather the trumpeters are dropping off.
Louth Bay has been producing mixed bags of whiting, squid and mixed size garfish. Locals are very quiet about the snapper but judging by the boats nothing stays secret for long.
Plump whiting have also been caught around Taylors Landing and the Lumps.
Deep down the Passage around Williams, plenty of nannygai, a few blue morwong and some snapper have been landed.
Tumby Bay
The groups have produced some nice big whiting this week, more so as the tides improved. Squid and snook are plentiful. A few small snapper were caught around the southern end however there were plenty that went back undersize.
Port Neill
Land based fishermen have had a great run with squid, tommies, snook and garfish all being caught at the jetty and break water. Boaties have managed some whiting however they have slowed down a little. Squid and snook are being caught in good numbers from the boats.
