Onkaparinga Amateur Angling Club
Onkaparinga Amateur Angling Club Inc. began in 1963 at Woodside. Currently members live anywhere from Port Elliott, Moana, Birdwood, Gawler to Ardrossan.
The Club is a family club and has between 10 -12 trips a year, mainly saltwater.
Competitions are run through the Australian Anglers Association (S.A. Division) Inc. covering rock and beach, freshwater, estuary, offshore and casting, in which the Club participates. Many members of the Club have also been selected to represent S.A. in the bi-annual National Championships which are held in a different State every two years. These are also run through the AAA.
June long weekend every year the members camp at Corny Point and have a 2 or 3 day competition. On the Saturday a "light line" competition is held, where the fishers can only use line up to 2.5kg, no leaders. This often results in more fish than the other days when stronger line can be used.
