  • With predicted SE winds on Saturday it would be a good idea to stay on the western sides and Sunday will drop right off completely.

METRO
King George numbers are looking like it's going to be a very good season with some nice fish up to 38 cms being caught near the black pole, silt grounds, Cabbage patch in the mornings, Norma, Semaphore and West Beach. There is still some good crab numbers coming from the St Kilda/Black Pole area and further south towards Semaphore. Squid are on the move with some good numbers being caught at Brighton, Marino, West Beach, Silt Grounds and near the Black Pole. A few small mulloway were caught of the breakwater near West Beach and some smaller ones from West Lakes. Salmon Trout are in good numbers in the Port River with North Arm and towards St Kilda being reliable. Mullet are off the metro beaches with some big ones in amongst them. Yellowfin whiting are still doing well off the northern beaches along with the odd flathead. Garfish have thinned out but there is fish at night around near the section bank. There is still a few snapper moving into the channel but you have to be there before the sun comes up as they tend to go off the bite when it gets light. A few snapper also come from the Broadway.

YORKE PENINSULA
For the serious yellowfin fisherman there has been a lot of fish caught off the beaches from Black Point up to Ardrossan at night. Some snapper are still out from Ardrossan where they have also come in a bit closer from the Barge. Still plenty of crabs about also. Squid have hit the areas big time with some nice catches coming from Pine Point, Wool Bay, Edithburgh, Hardwick Bay, Port Rickaby, Port Victoria, Port Hughes and Wallaroo. They should start moving up towards Port Broughton and Port Pirie in the next coming weeks ready to spawn. Whiting have really moved in and there are some nice fish at Port Hughes and south of Wallaroo. Port Victoria, Hardwick and off the inner banks are starting to fire as well. Edithburgh has some whiting in the bay but better fish are coming from the island areas. Marion Bay has plenty of mullet and a few squid coming from the jetty. Out from Rhinos head there are some flathead and still a few whiting. On the foot there is salmon at Brown's Beach along with mullet, Royston Head has some snapper off the rocks with the odd salmon swimming through, Pondi has mullet, whiting and some garfish, Stenhouse has some tommies and a few squid. Tuna are still hanging around Susan shoals and the sambos have moved in out wide. Port Pirie still has crabs and squid won't be far away. Some whiting have moved onto the patches west of Weeroona and there are some nice squid and crabs at Port Germain

SOUTH
Some good catches of squid are coming from Second valley and a few at Rapid Bay at the moment as well as some being caught off the breakwater at Wirrina. Salmon have been doing well at Waitpinga as well as a few mullet. The Coorong was a bit slow last week but a lot could not get down towards the barrages due to the traffic. There is still mulloway there but you have to be early. Salt creek seen salmon and still the odd mulloway.A friend went further towards Kingston and did better with 2 mulloway and a dozen salmon and 1 flathead.

FRESHWATER
Callop are still being caught with some nice fish around Murray Bridge right up to Blanchetown. There is very little movement in levels so the fish should hold for a while. Some big catfish are also being caught which is a good sign. Remember to return them back to the water.

With the long weekend coming up next week and the tides look great get in to the shop where we can give you more advise on what's happening and get some of the best bait and burley around.
