Howdy Poppa...no offence...but...i think they've got a rec fishing license over there and that enables them to do everything they're doing for us humble anglers... ;)

Hey bratko, no offence taken. I just thought it was interesting how their government wants more people fishing. Our seems to be heading the other way. Maybe they see the economic value in us???

...on Sunday morning i fished O Sullivans beach breakwater next to a lovely ol fella who told me he had no problem taking over 30 salmon home when theyre running hot...when I told him of the limit he said once theyre in his bucket he doesnt care...(wrong thing to say to me  )...he caught a small flatty and upon my offer of a tape measure he shook his head left to right meaning no...when asked if he thought it was SIZE he nodded his head up and down...a few polite words under my breath aimed at him (I think he heard) and he didn't last another 10mins before he took off...off to the onka I went in search of the peace only a nice fishing session can give...once at my favourate spot my friend and I stood there dumbfounded...in shock...there was a bloke with 5 rods in the water and using chicken as bait...WTF is going on...seems like where ever you turn its like the old days and ways are everywhere...its time to change with the times to ensure our rec fishn futures...we didn't get port stanvac jetty because they rekn its $250000 a year upkeep...we wont get anything until we put our money where our mouth is...times have changed...its time we change too...its time we change what we need to...to keep fishn which means so much to people like me and you...fishing can save your life...its time we saved fishn....peace

Can only assume you have all taken advantage of the latest consulting period for the next round of RECFish grants and the stocking of a couple of new fresh water dams. May not be attractive to everyone, however, a few of us have been talking to the people involved about stocking of some local saltwater species into local waters. You can maybe guess which ones. Whine all you want, but unless you get involved, well you know the rest. Plus don't forget, they may be slow, and stocking in smaller numbers, but the government is doing it for free. If you have been around for a while you would know that recreational fishers in this state, are their own worst enemies.

Thanks for the update fishos. I was over in Victoria January this year and it was great to see the target 1 million campaign on tv and billboards etc.

Good if they are looking to stock saltwater species in SA like they do interstate. I gave up trying last year. Recs in SA have pushed for saltwater stocking and artificial reef habitat enhancement for years.
