  • Please do not forget that the Snapper closure time commences midday 1st November to midday 15th December state wide.

Now for what was biting and where

Elliston / Sheringa
Some good size Australian Salmon are being reported right along this coast. Fish to 4Kg are still being caught by bait and lure anglers.

Almonta / Gunyah Beach
Better salmon catches when berley was used as salmon schools were not prevalent. Most fish are in small schools or loners hanging around the deeper gutters.

Coffin Bay / Farm Beach
King George Whiting are being caught by boaties fishing around the Farm Beach area. Silver Trevally are keeping anglers amused when using light gear.

Some Snapper from rugger’s through to larger specimens are being caught, along with good reports of Nannygai from off shore lumps.

Port Lincoln
Squid and garfish are spread throughout local bays and are being caught from jetties. The Sleaford to Wanna coast had visible salmon schools on the weekend but most were out of casting range.

King George Whiting are being caught in most popular spots with Thistle Island being the most consistent area.

Try the Passage for Nannygai, blue morwong and the odd rugger Snapper. There are still a few schools of Samson fish for those calm days when boaties can get out wide.

Tumby Bay
King George Whiting for boaties were hard to find in close or out at the Group.

Some rugger Snapper to 55cm were found offshore.

Port Neill
Garfish in bay and off the jetty and breakwater.

Boaties are doing well on King George Whiting.

Arno Bay
Whiting are scarce in close. To get a feed, boaties are moving about with only 1 or 2 fish per drop.

Cowell
The inner harbour has some blue swimmer crabs and a few Trevally, King george and Yellowfin whiting.
