Try the North Shore for King George Whiting, good numbers of Squid, and Garfish.

It looks like winter has arrived! The good news is that the wind has finally slowed down and we should be in for some calm days out on the water. There are still some good fishing options out there, so put on some thermals and go fishing.

Now for what was biting and where.

Elliston / Sheringa

Salmon from 1 to 3kg were caught from the surf along with very big tommies and salmon trout. Whiting were off First Beach.

Almonta / Gunyah Beach

Salmon around 2 – 3 kilograms are being caught on both metal lures and pilchard baits along the beaches. Best results tend to be coming from anglers fishing early morning or fishing the incoming tide.

Farm Beach

King George Whiting around 32 to 36cm are being caught by boaties fishing both in close and further off shore.

Squid and Garfish were also popular catches by boaties.

Coffin Bay

Salmon trout and small Silver Trevally are being caught throughout the bay at all times of the day, biting on just about any bait presented to them.

King George Whiting around 30- 38cm are being caught predominately by boaties, however a few reports of good plump fish did come from land based fishos within the area.

Offshore Snapper and Nannygai continue to provide boaties with consistent catches with all methods working.
