  10. Dorsal Fin - SA Fishing Report 04/11/2016

    Teaser Paragraph:

The weekend is looking quite good with winds dropping off by mid-morning Saturday and staying that way on Sunday as well. Most people will be aware of the new size and bag limits for recreational anglers coming in force on December 1 2016. So November is the time to get out there and get a good feed before they come into place. While most of the limits are reasonable the King George Whiting got hit yet again and is unacceptable that recreational anglers have to take this hit again while our professional counterparts take no hit other than the closure in May. These changes will come around and bite them as due to the size increase there will be more people fishing the bigger fish grounds than ever before.

  22. Dorsal Fin - SA Fishing Report 10/03/2016

    Teaser Paragraph:

Apologies for last weeks fishing report but things were hectic to get the tuition weekend finalised. We had a good number of people last weekend with about 4-5 boats most days. The whole idea was to show people around and how to navigate the area. All did very well and all were pretty confident in what they were doing. Was pretty windy over there but that was good to see how their crafts could manage the area with a bit of nous on where to come back in and out. Thanks to all that came I hope you learnt a few things about the area. Pitty about the weather but there was was fish caught at least. Whiting, Garfish, Huge crabs, some squid, snook and some huge tommies. Unfortunately no legal snapper as we could not get out to the grounds, but they left with a list of GPS spots to try on top of the ones we took them to. Weather is looking much better this weekend (That will be right :() and there is a lot of action to be had.

  25. Dorsal Fin - SA Fishing Report 04/02/2016

    Teaser Paragraph:

What a week, with the new proposals from PIRSA on size and bag limits along with possible closures, things are really heating up. This is the opportunity for everyone to get together and ensure all these new rules don't go ahead. Feel free to go onto the PIRSA site and fill out the 3 surveys to voice your objection. On a brighter note the weekend is looking good both days with light winds and low seas.
