This is exactly why you need to take care up at Whyalla in that snapper comp. Anyone entering this year, you need to be aware that some secretive guys out there will be on marks (especially the inshore ones) with lights out. My mate in his 6.4 m trail craft went within just a few meters of a small boat at anchor with lights off last year. He has good spotties, but we all know the light bounces around out there. Take care guys.(I'm now a self appointed safety conscious obsessive now since not looking where I was going in DAYLIGHT the other day... So listen to this idiot  )Cheers

After pinging your best 'cos I know you catch tons of snapper there isn't going to guarantee me a snapper... how many people go to a known spot where other's pull fish from like the Stanvac Barges and

ALL THIEVES SHOULD HAVE THERE FINGERS BROKEN REGARDLESS.SCUMBAGS.

sometimes i think this topic is hilarious. just because no-ones on your fav spot when your out there doesnt mean that its not known, there may be 500-3,000 ppl with those co-ords.there is no personal

Shit hookers i call them  yep they piss me off..Been shit hooked to the point where we were fishing tide was just about to change, just started to get bites and a boat anchored 5m away from the nose of my boat when we swung with the tide i was fishing there anchor..Was on the mark all night from 3am.. Nah, no probs Brent. You and everyone else did deserve an explanation though! Just like you lot, we wanna provide "free speech" but you'd be surprised at some of the issues we get approached over and the trouble we have to go through over that sorta stuff! That's why we have to set some guidelines and jump on things.I'm like you, I wanna fish and have fun, not deal wiv bullsh*t or answer to threats over who said what, when, where, and why about whom! :blink:Just in the past 24 hours I've had to deal with I think 6 different issues from concerned members where posts have been withdrawn, questioned, discussed or requested removal, and ban one member who flatly refused to comply. I just try to weigh things up, refer to the acceptable use policy for direction, and do what is best for the majority overall to keep the place running as smoothly as possible. Someone always wont like it, and it'll upset someone else who will then complain, but thems the breaks, and voluntarily I chose to do it, so I'll wear it I guess, then when I knock off I'll abuse the bottle. It's knock off time soon! :P Got an issue of theft wiv someone, just shoot em I recon, then it's between the two of you...............oh no, that's illegal and I can't say that here......BUGGER! Forget that! :blush:NOW I'll take the silver duct tape option!

Why would you even consider taking out a handheld GPS with you when being invited on someone elses boat? Unless you have been specifically asked to do so' date=' I just cant see the point?[/quote']I've actually done this on more than one occasion!
You mean YOU need help operating the %#*(ing things sometimes too Tony  Good to see someone smarter than me also has issues with them sometimes  Thanks to Barnett I have a tiny bit more understanding of mines mysteries

Just be careful when your "mate" wants to take a photo of you with his new iPhone or similar just after you pulled that big fish over the side of you boat. If he has the geotagging activated on the phone it will record the gps location for each photo taken???????Worse still he could reach in his pocket and take a picture of the inside of his pocket and he still has the location.

Even my VHF radio shows the co-ords on the screen... it's getting very hard to hide nowI even pinged my mate on Google Earth as a joke.... I saw a boat sitting right on where he fishes so took a screen capture.... I knew the spot anyway but it just shows that you can even ping boats just by looking at google earth

Yeah I know what you mean.. I took a mate to a productive inshore spot but gave him the plots anyway as he is completely trustworthy (and still is) and then 2 years later into the future he took another local (who he thought was trustworthy) there to the said spot and then this bloke pinged the spot and now takes others there. Trust no-one... the truth is out there for all to know! Karma is a wonderful thing

I'm definately with Jack on the Whyalla comment. We had an experience there as well, but although not real close. We were coming in from Point Lowly through the Mudbanks area on the second day when we saw a weak flash off the starboard bow. We slowed down and turned slightly to Port. When we had moved past a bit, we saw the distinct image of a white hulled cuddy or half cab sitting there without lights. This time I will be travelling well wide of that area.
