bjorn2fish 4,610
Waterboy's caught a few over the years. Here's a pic of one he caught back in January. Apparently his smallest blue devil.
projoe 261
when i fished the tunkallia reefs down south a few years back during the summer months they were bait stealers a bit of nuisence really. might be a spot they gather at that time of year?
statesquider 0
I've caught one only once but I've seen quite a few around the place when spearfishing

Woody 0
Caught some big ones on a charter between the cape and KI, but nothing metro. As bjorn said, Waterboy has caught a few locally though
Tacklebags 404
Thanks for the responses all....my mate caught one at Marion Reef last weekend and I thought it may have been a harlequin species we had never seen before initially.TB
T BONE 1
Caught a couple in a session targeting Kg's off Wirrina last year, meant to be good eating but visually too nice of a fish for that.
mrfish 327
same as above, theres stacks of them between cape jervis and KI. landed heaps on a charter fishing for snapper. Apparently they are pretty good eating too though we threw them alll back, Might have to try one next time.
bocky 2
We have picked up a few localy over the years. Usually off of grange drifting for whiting. mean looking fish we always have returned them.
jagger 24
Every session down at Jervis/Wirrina we get them. WIll happily take a snapper bait and they have the whitest flesh you have ever seen. I know...too pretty to eat but they are great eating ! Got some in the freezer now actually
Habanero 0
Can't say I have eveer caught one, but now I really want to eat one so I guess I have to catch one lol, reckon I could get far enough off Cape Jervis in a 12ft Tinny to catch one?
T BONE 1
Beautiful looking colours, anyone know if they hang around in small schools at all? As caught two in a row on this particular drop where we had never caught one before.
twinpower 151
ive caught a few down the cape and caught one out the tinny the other week down aldinga. apparently theyre very old for there size i think 40 odd years old. all mine have been released
statesquider 0
Whenever i've seen them spearing they have always been alone but they look too nice to spear so i always leave them alone. They are also quite inquisative when you swim up to them which makes it even less likely i'll spear them :)As TP said i've also heard they are quite old for their size.
