Des 818
1) Yellow Fin Whiting: the absolute best by far for simple cooking with delicious results.2) Flounder: Butter, wine & lemon OR Crispy fried with a tangy Thai shitake mushroom sauce.3) Flathead: very versatile, but beer batter is the bestAll in abundance on our doorstep, the northern sand flats.Cheers,Des

ScaleyTom 19
Absolutey love my snapper, beer battered or crumbed. Followed closey by flathead in the same way. Whiting is way off my list, no real taste when fresh. I'd rather tommy rough or sweep over whiting anyday. Savagelip

A lot of people say that. Its a fish you have to look after when caught. Straight on an ice slurry kills them humanely and keeps them fresh as a daisy. I love the mildly gamey taste. Same as Tommys, if its fish, its gotta taste like fish
