Trouthunter 0
G'day All......I was wondering what every ones favourite Redfin flies are?I have a few little redfin spots that i might try and flick a new 3WT that i am in the process of ordering...Want some practice in tight situations and some entertainment in-between chasing that illusive wild brown on fly gear in SA!My thoughts is i guess redfin are not really that fussy? i was thinking wooly buggers and leech patterns?would be great to get some feedback from some people with fly fishing SKILL!cheers TH
fishnuts 55
Try anything that resembles the colors and size of a small redfin itself, they are very cannibalistic and eat alot of smaller fish besides their own kind. If you wish to purchase anything then let me know Cheers Dazz
jamesclarke05 9
I found that purple and silver colours work well, similer to the squidgy evil minnow pattern
Kelvin 2,198
Redfin are not fussyWolly buger, muddler minnow, and epoxy minnows all workI like some flash and some red in the fly. If it is a minnow imitation, big stick on eyes also help the fly to stand out.As I kid I even use to bind some Kangaroo fur around a longshank hook with red cotton thread and fish 3 hooks on a paternoster rig and just jig it up and down and catch plenty of redfin.
