Rack of Goat

Hi All, Our local butcher is pushing the goat meat that is being grown in the area. I have had the chops on the BBQ with some mates but i bought a rack with the idea that i like rack of lamb. Any tips or hints on how to cook, time for weight etc?

Treat it like lamb and you can't go wrong. Marination wise , salt, pepper, a bit of garlic, tyhme or oregano . Rub it all on, add a splash of lemon juice and roast .

thanks guys - i went olive oil/ red wine/ garlic/ rosemary and thyme.The meat was on special when i bought it, he needed to move it. was $15 per/kg for the rack. normally $32 per/kg. I'm not sure about he other cuts, i didn't really look.He suggested it because i buy a heap of Kangaroo meat/ mince/ snags as it is lean, the goat is similar. We (the wife and I) try and eat lean as we either swim or gym every single morning through the week, high fat meats don't sit well in the morning.

I am just eating some goat I cooked last Saturday. A whole 8 kg goat cost $78 from Marino meat at the markets. Cooked on spit, basted in oil, lemon oregano garlic salt and pepper. Beautiful

as nickmav said. but i would add a bit of freshly chopped rosmary :whistle: and a few beers
