bjorn2fish 4,625
I caught a very small one in the Onk last year near the mouth. First and so far last. yellowfin85
ashleycraig80 0
I've seen them caught in west lakes before ages ago. No reason to think they wouldn't still be there. Port Gawler also has them check a few links from "des". He is the master of that area.General rule is if there are flathead around there will be flounder. That's what i have read at least. Still to catch a legal flounder. I'm sure others may have different spots to try.
Trouta 6
Not sure if there the same fish, but as a kid we used to go spearing for them in the coorong had a farm at meningie, we take a torch and a hand spear was great fun walk out in the water no more than waste deep yellowfin85

Kelvin 2,258
I thought you couldn't spearfish metro
ShimsMan 1
I thought you couldn't spearfish metroIndeed true, from within 600M of the south breakwater of Outer Harbour to the outer edge of Port Noarlunga aquatic reserve is off limits for spear fishing. The Onk outlet and south of there spears are fair game. Also it seems they're ok north of outer harbour too. Looks like you would need to free dive if you wanted to do it metro, as you need to be up to 600M out and can't legally use one while wearing SCUBA gear.A little confusing, I wouldn't bother unless i was a die hard spear fisherman. ashleycraig80 0
No legal size limit in SA, stupid i know. I wouldnt be keeping anything small, useless for cleaning
wishing2Bfishing 0
General rule is if there are flathead around there will be flounder.do u reckon that would work in reverse? i been hunting for flathead around Whyalla and seen some flounder, i might try some hardbodies and see if i can rustle up some interest from a nice lizard
MistOne 0
I have caught them in both westlakes and the onk (onk closer towards the ocean) only very very small though! From time to time when I have used the daiwa double clutch HB ( this lure particularly) I have seen many flounder follow the lure in, however no takers
