Milmo 116
I took this photo from the South Port cam. Not very good quality but just want to share the view. I never see the water that rough before. Anyone ever fishing in that condition? What can we expect...or better stay away?

Kelvin 2,197
Salmon season should be starting soon.
tonyb 1,017
Complete waste of time in my experience!!That is one very shallow stretch of coastline without any decent gutters most of the year and no fish would be comfortable foraging in there until the surf dropped away.Additionally, there is so much weed in these conditions it's impossible to fish :ohmy:A different story entirely as the surf drops away. Killa time to be there, although the drifting remnants of weed on a big flowing tide can be a nuisance
reelin 2
I disagree with tony on this one, I have had my best salmon sessions along christies to southport in this type of water, snapper also get caught in these conditions. Might be a bit early for the big salmon though? Only way to find out is get down there and give it a crack! you will be surprised
Savagelip 4
after watching this, west beach rocks might be worth a shot milmo, some fella pulled a monster from there a few yrs back piratepom, bigfish, Milmo and 2 others

I imagine after it settles down the lb snapper spots will be firing.
digitalnoir 0
Has anyone been out this morning on the Mid? Thinking of casting a few lures of southport or maslins this evening... Did the wind bring the Mullet Schools in?
