jagger 24
Stu i'm with you on this one mate.. Wrasse all the way. Always different colours and sizes but always the same picky little bites usually. Great cockle theives ;)Luke I cought heaps on camo worms down at Jervis last weekend quite large as well. The bigger ones do bite a bit better. I kept one of the largest to try as we always throw them back. Good fun when nothing else is on ;D
benny 1
Female blue throat wrasse. Heres a pic of a male one. Ya are right they fight really dirty as I lost two others before this fish due to them diving under the rocks, they are like mini groper! http://www.fishyorkepeninsula.com/images/attachments/nLQNVaAa__DSC03739.JPG[/img]

The Broker 0
We call them Rock Cod ... The Blue Throated Wrasse is a fish that alot of good fisherman like to eat. They are good fun to catch and will put a bend in the stick.
fishnfreak 0
First two pics i would say they are female blue throated wrasse, but the last looks like a Female/Juvenile senator wrasse. Both are resonably common in shallow reefy areas in SA
luke_westlakes 4
Thats good to no there only wrasse, i wasn't to keen on touching them when i first got them to the side of the boat!!! lol
tonyb 1,017
Lots of scales come off them on the filletting board Luke, but well worth putting up with that as the flesh is nicely textured and hell tasty as well.Been C&Ring them for nearly 20 years and only recently found out how good they are on the table through a recommend. Take no prisoners now 8) 8)
