vajironer 0
Hi,Been to Second valley quite a bit lately. Not doing too bad on the squid of an evening, but during the day all i seem to hook up is small leather jackets. Id prefer some larger / different species if possible. Any tips for a newbie for Second Valley or Rapid bay or Even Port Noarlunga?P.S - I should probably mention im using squid for bait on a whiting rig....
Bass13 10
Hey vajironer welcome to Strike hook. Hit the rocks and find deep water. Try using a weighted running foat, with the leader long as you can bear or fish un-weighted. It can be a mix bag off da rocks from Salmon, Flathead, Shark, ray to name a few, good luck. vajironer
Hetherington 0
When you say off the rocks, do you mean to the left or right when looking at the jetty?
NickD 0
I was just down there today and yesterday, and we managed to get a good feed of tommies, red mullet, sweep, squid aswell as leather jackets all from the jetty, also dropped a decent snook on a soft plastic. We fished cockles and squid on whiting rigs aswell as flicking soft plastics, berley seemed to help with catching the tommies alot aswell as just before high tide. It may also be worth having a big rod out with a whole (small) tommy although it could end up getting taken by a ray.
