shaw76 0
Hi all im heading to salt creek in few weeks and am wondering what a good castable shark bait might be. I know fresh is best but if I get no luck catching a fresh slab fillet whats the next best thing to grab on way out there. My first time so any advice be great. Goldman 0
Tommies, salmon trout or mullet are all good..........squid too
plankton 725
Oily stuff is good for sharks, so stuff like Goldman mentioned. Snook makes a good bait as well and if used in a clip down rig is quite aerodynamic as they're skinny.
Savagelip 4
whole squid (frozen) ,salmon, bonito, snook, mackerel, ray
baitwaster 202
half a snooks always a winner (despite being a doubter before I tried and whole squids never failed me.

plankton 725
Here's a link to another thread, the pulley rig we're talking about is an example of a clip down rig.http://www.strikehook.com/forum/5-general-fishing/256023-beach-fishing-rigs#270795
