t1ppo 24
Was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of where I can obtain a replacement screw for my stradic fj 2500 ? The screw connecting the handle to the reel came loose and vanished into the depths last fishing mission. Loving the reel... it is has a beautiful feel. What do people think about a little bit of loktite on the thread to stop this from happening again. And as a sidethought would this maybe be covered under warranty ? The reel was bought from BCF less than 6 months ago.
Ale 301
Might be a case of who u know, SH loyal Kuershie works at BCF Richmond. Drop him a pm. Locktite; wouldn't do any harm, I recommend. Kuerschie
projoe 261
I work in retail fishing, claim under warranty it should not be a problem as long as you have the receipt.
t1ppo 24
Much appreciated Ale - this place rocks Ill get in touch with him now. ( is he a member here Ale or should i give him a bell at BCF ? )\ I live at goolwa BTW.... If they don't cost much and are sold at BCF I'd probably head to noarlunga. What about that tackle shop at pt.elliot ? They have a good store ?
t1ppo 24
Been looking for the receipt most of the day with no luck. Im pretty bad with that kind of stuff I just have the original box. I doubt it will be too expensive for a screw right ?
Ale 301
That's where "knowing a guy" may help. Sometimes, just the leadtime to get these things in store that suck. Dare say if u live north, United fastners on Cavan rd would have a stainless screw that would do the job if u get really stuck t1ppo
Kuerschie 2,309
Hi T1ppo, if you can't find the receipt it is possible to have proof of purchase via the BCF Club Member card. The card has details of what purchases were made over a period of time (unsure how long though). The Stradic FJ are sold by BCF definitely, I bought the 1000 two years back and they're still in stock. As mentioned it should be covered by the Shimano warranty but you'd have to discuss it with the store members at Noarlunga. If all else fails, Anglers Choice on Beach Road Christies Beach is a shimano specialist that should be able to order in parts from the reel. I lost my drag knob on my stradic one day and they bought one in for me within a week t1ppo
t1ppo 24
Anglers choice, that would be where ole Pete works. He's a good bloke - heaps helpful and knows his stuff too. Thanks heaps Kuerschie Kuerschie
projoe 261
did you buy on your visa card if so they can look up your transaction & go from there. also membership card?
Kuerschie 2,309
Anglers Choice would be the best bet if you're wanting just the part for the reel, take the reel with you and show them the part(s) you're after and they should be able to help you out If not then head to BCF and see if the claim and warranty will go through. t1ppo
Benwah 92
You can order parts over the phone to Shimano Australia, just look up the reel schematics & get the part #, delivery I think is only 5 or 10 bucks. t1ppo
