Hugo 120
Picked these up at Bunnings for twenty bucks. Aluminium handles with stainless steel nose. No lanyard or pouch. Way less grief if they go over the side compared to some other brands! Poppa Snake, trihull, Backchat and 2 others
trihull 177
How is the cutting edge like? Does it cut Braid cleanly? Have you tried the nose tang for split rings yet??? If all good, seems like a great pick up................. P.S Which Bunnings? And what area? The Tools Section, or in an isle elsewhere?
Hugo 120
Cutting edge seems fine, no problems with 80lb mono and 10lb fireline. The blades are replaceable with a small Allen key, but lord knows where you'd get replacement blades from. The nose is about 7cm long so should be fine for getting hooks out that are lodged inside a fishes mouth. The whole plier is 20cm in length. The tang lines up well at the tip and is good for all but the smaller split rings you would have on bream sized lures, but will handle heavy split rings found on deep jigs and tuna type lures. The blades have a basic crimping set up which would be OK if no better options were available. All up the quality is fine. A large split ring attached through the bottom hole on the handle to a lanyard or length of Bungy chord and they're good to go. Tinker and Hugo
Hugo 120
I grabbed them at their Littlehampton (Mt Barker) store, they were in a display box in one of the isles. Might pay to ring other locations but looked like they had stacks of them.
