seagypsy 1,182
http://www.shimanofish.com.au/customer-service/service-centre.html Well recently I have had a bad run with reel parts and ordered some through a local shop. After waiting almost 4 weeks and being told that they will call when the parts are in I have lost patience and went looking online for a different solution. I came across this service from Shimano and gave them a call. They organised the parts and shipped them that day ( Overnight postage ). So if you ever need parts for your Shimano reel and don't want to wait around twiddling your thumbs I recommend this. Magoo, Moggy23, keenfisho and 1 other
rooboy123 9
Yeah mate. Don't muck around using tackle stores as the middle men for parts or even to send a reel away for a service. It's heaps better to go direct to shimano or daiwa, I've found both companies great to deal with for parts, although daiwa were a bit slow with reel servicing. seagypsy
MiSCrEANT 53
If I do need spares there is one man that runs a reel servicing business called South Oz rods near home. I just get stuff through him and get my reels serviced by him from time to time. seagypsy and Des
Yorky 309
My son had to replace the handle on his Stradic & it was $9.55 cheaper through the local tackle shop than it was direct from Shimano. Tackle shop deals with Shimano all the time so gets better prices, good shop will pass some of the savings on to customers, more of a reason to shop local Cheers Yorky
seagypsy 1,182
For me getting the part in good time is more important than saving a few dollars. I'll go with who ever gets me back fishing the quickest within reason. It's takes the store longer to get the parts because they probably put in a monthly parts order to save on postage or receive a discount bulk orders.

bricks 24
I had to go across town, because my local doesn't do shimano spares. But I had them in 2 business days, ordered in based on a phonecall. seagypsy
