Ladies and Gentlemen. Welcome to the Port Hughes Angling Competition. Our guarantee - every cent of profit goes to “Variety – the children’s charityâ€. We invite you to take part in this event, not only for yourself but for the kids who depend on generous people within the community. For those who have not competed before, there are 3 medals in each of the 4 categories (Longest whiting, longest snapper, longest squid and mixed bag). Depending on registrations, extra categories may be created for "Kayak" and "Junior Competitor". Every entrant will have a chance to win some of the $5500 worth of prizes. The event will be conducted on Sunday 3rd May 2015 at Port Hughes. Timings are as follows but subject to change. 0600 - Briefing at the boat ramp carpark immediately followed by launching of boats into the bay (do not pass end of jetty) 0700 - Flare fired from jetty signifies start of event. 1700 - All fish to be measured must be at the measuring station. 1800 - Post event presentations at the Port Hughes Tavern. Registration ($25 fee) * Register before 1700 on Wednesday 15th April to receive a free stubby holder and go into the draw to win two nights accomodation at the Port Hughes Tourist Park. * Register between Thursday 16th and Wednesday 29th April and pay only $25 Registration ($35 fee) * Register between Thursday 30th April and 1700 on Friday 1st May and pay $35. STRICTLY NO REGISTRATIONS ON THE SATURDAY 2ND MAY OR SUNDAY 3RD MAY (THE DAY OF THE EVENT) (Please consider that we are organising this on a voluntary basis and early entries make managing the event a lot easier.)
