portluck 117
Hi, I was wondering if anyone uses this app/site, and if so how do you think it goes? Is it reasonably accurate ? Do the stats stack up etc etc. I know all of these things are hit and miss, but every bit of help I can get, I'll grab! BarneyB
Panga 1,484
I use Willy (silly weather) Buoy Weather and windyty and get a good overall idea of the big picture. Otherwise I lick my finger and get the true indication as I feel they can not pick there noses let alone the weather Mundoo Jack, BarneyB, bjorn2fish and 2 others
seagypsy 1,182
Most tide information would be accurate. One thing tide predictions ( tides that are forecasted ) don't take into consideration is differences in Barometric pressure and forecasted weather on any particular day ( differences in barometric pressure and weather are often linked. . Low pressure systems tend to raise sea levels and high pressure systems tend to lower them. Variations in tide will also happen when we have periods of strong winds, normally linked to low pressure systems and affects of sea breeze. When we have prolonged periods of strong wind you will notice large tides at the tops of both gulfs. portluck, BarneyB, dutchy and 3 others
Seeseacol 381
I think they get their info from the same source....but I use this link generally...... http://www.marineweather.net.au/marine/sa/adelaide-local-waters?d=2....and this one for tide info..... http://www.tides4fishing.com/au/south-australia/port-noarlunga portluck and BarneyB
BarneyB 1,939
Tides 4 Fishing http://www.tides4fishing.com/au/south-australia/port-adelaide is actually a bit different to the other resources mentioned. It uses Solunar data to predict the best fishing times. I try to use it to plan trips but quite often find that we cannot be out at the optimum predicted time but will still have a go, we enjoy fishing, catching only makes it better. I cannot vouch for the accuracy of the predictions but I have read many good reports on the system. Panga
portluck 117
Thanks Barney, The guy at the bait and tackle place swears by best fishing time predictions. As you said, it's all about getting out and having a go anyway. More info the better I suppose. BarneyB
