sbarnden 397
Just watched this from Totally Awesome Outdoors show (the new spin off from their Totally Awesome Fishing Show). Making your own oil from fish guts. They are using it here for lamp oil but I'd guess its a ingredient in his personal secret oil blend previously featured on his shark fishing video's. Anyone tried making their own oil from fish guts for burley instead of just buying tuna oil in bulk? reelfun and bjorn2fish
AquaticResearch1 1,046
No I haven't, but I intend on it now. Would be a hell of alot more convenient than freezing a heap of carp for your basic landbased burley. Wonder how cooking down the flesh itself (in the case of carp) would go? May need to mash it or add a little water. Interesting experiment none the less
Underpants 1,543
Yum yum. Would want to make sure the missus wasn't home. Interesting and i do like the idea of using all the fish. However a bit if a pain in the a**e and i'd sooner buy tuna oil. What's with wasting all that omega 3 goodness? I'd have be more impressed if he was drinking it or frying his food in it ! Obviously not using our local rainbow trout either . dutchy
