piratepom 3,197
It has taken me a few weeks of mourning to post this pic'! I managed to snap the tips off both my bream rods, a Venom Death Adder and a Dynamix Bream, which were in the car on a fairly recent road trip to Marion Bay. Depressingly all my own fault! R.I.P. my friends. Softy, doobie, no_idea and 4 others

Dylbaa 174
Think of the wonderful memories! Haha but seriously they look like they could be re tipped? Although they'd never be the same again.... piratepom

Although they'd never be the same again.... You're making me weep, again... I had thought about getting the Venom Death Adder re tipped, but probably wouldn't bother with the Dynamix. Need to look into who does that kind of thing and cost etc... Dylbaa

Bugger that sucks! $10 for 9 top eyes and some hot glue from ebay should work alright and you'll have leftovers in case another tip gets snapped. Michael at hotfish down the port used to replace tips for about $5-10, dunno if the new owners still do it though. piratepom

gregtech 1,029
Rob at South Oz Rods on Mullers Rd. put a new tip on my unused Ocea 732, after casting "imaginary" stickbaits into "imaginary" bustups and smacking the tip into the concrete floor . Stupidity pain is so different to "hammer onto thumb" pain . Cost of repair was $20 and it looked like new.. piratepom, Underpants and Squid Inc.

At least it sounds like stupidity is not going to be to costly. gregtech

SaltyFlyer 298
Re - tip the one that has "just" lost the tip , as said , a dab of hot gun glue, and a tip to suit ... As for the other , you might be able to get away with repositioning the 2nd runner, and a new tip , but give that one to the experts ... Good luck SF Dylbaa and piratepom
southie THE BANGA 2,304
if only you were down south mate.... Could of both Brought them in and i would of sorted them out for you.... The re tipping is easy. just gotta grab the right size tip.... The rod with a bit more taken off will require a bit of shuffling around, but still an easy fix.... just going to have a different action on it... if i'm ever down your way i'll let you know piratepom
Dylbaa 174
As everyone has noted, easy fix, if you have 10mins of spare time just google it, simple process, funnily enough, i too now have to re-tip a rod i gave a mate to use on tuesday 👎 piratepom
piratepom 3,197
Thanks for all the replies, suggestions and offers of help. Much appreciated. I'll have a go at doing it myself, after a bit of research, and will let you know how I go. Cheers.
adamibinfishin 224
U can get lucky. I took the tip off a saltiga 68s years ago and thought the rod was ruined but it turned out to be a better rod than b4 once an end guide was put on. These were a fairly soft rod standard and it went from a 30lb rod to a 40lb rod. Just got lucky as suited to my purpose. Goodluck. piratepom and wilda

Underpants 1,543
Now that's pretty sexy!.... I go more 'old school': 90mm storm pvc with end caps, rods bagged with some rags or bubble wrap jammed in each end so they don't move around much. piratepom, samboman, reelfun and 1 other
