waterbird 17
Thinking of visiting Hughes on Sunday, the high is around 0630 however will be 5-10knts wind against tide for the runout. Only fished Hughes twice in the bay during winter, can anyone tell me its worth going out to the Light in those conditions or maybe wait for a better day? cheers. brutus 873
Well the forecast for Sunday is mild in the morning till around 1pm when it’s getting fresh. Problem is it’s from the South at this stage and that means blowing right up the gulf and gets a bit choppy as the wind increases. Past the light you might find a bit of a swell rising during the day, but if your boats biggish and your confident no dramas. I wouldn’t take my Gannet out on a rising southerly and they’re a stable boast even if small. As for fish gars, snook, crabs, squid all abundant.
Rod 773
Might be 5 to 10 in sheltered areas but doesn't look beautiful where out further. Would probably loookshury to ooos but a long way off at this stage. Based on current forecast an early start and back in by lunch. But what boat? Cheers Rod
waterbird 17
Thanks Brutus & Rod, I have a 17.5' Caribbean that is very stable, however taking my grandkids out I might pick a better day. Thanks for the info.

I gather the gar & snook are also in the Hughes bay area Brutus, where its a bit more sheltered? brutus
