my home town,

The local jetty used to be good fishing..   plenty of beaches around too.   Second creek  is not far out. we used to fish and snorkel this area a lot.  Ski beach has some nice land based flicking to be done too.

The marina is holding some decent fish  from what i hear.

Always got Coffin bay, Port Niell, Port Lincoln close by too

Southern end of the bay, where the bay curves around and 'peninsulars'  towards Tumby Island. Offers some good protection from southerlies.

Check it out on Google maps. Some really nice structure. Don the waders/wetsuit and go hard. have nfi how the area fires but looks really sexy. Had one session a 18 months back and pulled a nice feed of yfw and flatties on sp.

All else some nice razorfish on a decent low tide.

As Del mentions, 2nd creek. Looked pretty good too.

Just a quick report as short on time..

Got onto a few fish while away though not in the numbers we were hoping. we managed some squid, KGW, Yelllowfin whiting, flathead, tommies, snook, trevally and salmon trout.

The Jetty was hit and miss for squid but we usually ended up with between 2-6 per session. Baby tommies were in plague proportions over some of the whiting grounds when we could get out in the boat (which wasn't often thanks to persistent 20 knot winds). The squid were mostly small with the occasional 25cm hood showing up. Threw out a slug on the way through the marina and hooked and lost a very nice snook of around 70+ cm which was entertaining. Also lost what could have been a cracking Yellowfin whiting while using a popper over the flats of ski beach as it straightened two hooks on a brand new lure. Wasn't impressed but provided some fun on a slow day :) . Replaced the trebles and managed some salmon trout on the popper on a trip down to coffin bay.

Did some snorkelling at the jetty and saw a good sized morwong and some puffer varieties and some magpie perch but not much around in the way of fish.

Overall a good trip but nothing epic. Beautiful part of the world though.
