Decent Rod/Reel combo for flicking plastics

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

in need of a new outfit. After decent combo for light soft plastics. Budget $100/$150. Doesn't have to be amazing, coming off a fairly old rod so anything will be an improvement.

Mostly chasing Redfin/Trout in the hills and Bream, ST's in the metro area.

Cheers!

If you’re looking for something mid tier just to get the job done and be reliable, I would highly recommend the Shimano raider rods, either in the rack or bream model in line class 1-3kg and a sienna 1000/2000/2500 reel. This combo will be more than adequate for many years of fishing and well within your budget.
