yellow door 1 1,786
Not good for much - but they are good for some applications. Obviously dont paint them if you're pretty sure you'll lose them first go - and use at your own risk Cal, AquaticResearch1, bjorn2fish and 1 other 3

yellow door 1 1,786
Haha - Nice one Doobie. Yeah I wanted to see how long they took to make, so I figured I should film it - cutting through16mm rebar takes 15 seconds - cutting and folding the wire takes about 20 - Sanding the burrs off takes around 20-30seconds - and the double Zipties takes around 20 seconds So if you were firing on all cylinders and had everything laid out - you could make an unpainted one from scratch in a couple of minutes. doobie
The Fishing Guru 239
That's really cool... Well done bloke
yellow door 1 1,786
Thanks Guru - I'd choose a snapper lead over these fellas 9.5 times out of 10 - They're smoother, heavier, more aerodynamic and offer less opportunities for tangles etc......... but in spots where you lose heavy sinkers regularly - the rebar starts making sense

Still... A really cool idea. You've inspired me to have a play and maybe a couple of tweaks here and there
yellow door 1 1,786
yeah if you can weld, it would make things a whole lot more professional. But theres still a few options for non welders - I'd be interested to see what you come up with. Most blokes just use wire to wrap them on - but I had more zipties than wire The Fishing Guru
yellow door 1 1,786
Heres a list of metal densities - higher the number the heavier per cubed metre https://www.engineeringtoolbox.com/metal-alloys-densities-d_50.html The Fishing Guru
yellow door 1 1,786
So one cubic meter of lead is 30% heavier than 1 cubic metre of steel. The Fishing Guru
