Guest xtrafishyfish
I reckon it all depends on the area where you are fishing.... locally on the sthn metro, cockles are a sure thing whereas in other places around the state they happily bite on razorfish or just squid {SMILIES_PATH}/cheesy.gif When the whiting are finicky I'll change to a piece of red mullet or slimey mack to get them on the bite {SMILIES_PATH}/cheesy.gif

Guest xtrafishyfish
Thanks finatic, I'll give it a go.... how long do you have the worm hanging off the hook
brenton 637
Cockles for me most of the time in metro, there are better baits such as worm and clickers but they too soft and imo aren,t worth the trouble. Also at times they prefer squid but only about 10% of the time,i also like a sandwich bait of a little bit of beaten squid with cockle on top. cheers brenton
ospray 1
In just about all areas Cockles are their favourite meal, Razor fish is a great attractant to get them interested and together, freshly caught Squid testicals are also a natural whiting food, it pays to tenderise it first before putting on the hook, green prawns have been known to work as well, but the most success is Cockles, for sure[/color:1yjdv6aj]
Barney 0
wow osprey, you are a dedicated fisherman if you are using squid testicles, to catch whiting, those suckers must be small, might have to try some out myself one day...
bennyboy 0
ehh, they all catch fish? not too fussed on which baits hey {SMILIES_PATH}/cheesy.gif a peice of red tubing definately works better though with some bait.
