heres a silver perch I got a few years ago, caught on bread, while fishing for carp in an urban pond... fish measured 53cms (picture doesnt do it much justice)and was released in good condition. It put up an OK fight on 6lb, but it fought a bit sluggish. Posted Image

My biggest - 45cm and almost 2kg from Walker FlatPosted ImageHad a mate pull one at 54cm from just around the Corner too.... I still haven't seen the photo of it.... but when he called me he was more excited than when he called me to tell me about his first cod, so no doubt in my mind..... can't wait to see the photo!

Yeah I still believe that both saltwater southern black bream and freshwater silver perch are both equal in the power to weight ratio when it comes to the fight.

And silver perch is one of the most gorgeous looking fish you can catch in the Murray or other places you might find them.

Anybody else got a deep cut from the gill rakers when caught unawares?
